Refund Policy

This Refund Policy describes how refunds are handled for paid subscriptions to BasilBook (“Service”). By subscribing, you agree to the terms below in addition to our Terms of Service.
1. Free Plan
BasilBook offers a Free plan with no payment required. You can evaluate the Service at no cost before deciding to upgrade to a paid plan. We strongly encourage using the Free plan to ensure BasilBook fits your needs before subscribing.
2. 14-Day Money-Back Guarantee
If you are not satisfied with your paid subscription, you may request a full refund within 14 days of your initial purchase. This guarantee applies to:
- Your first monthly subscription payment, or
- Your first annual subscription payment.
The 14-day guarantee does not apply to renewal payments or to subsequent subscriptions after a previous refund.
3. Cancellations
- You may cancel your subscription at any time from your billing settings.
- Cancellation stops future renewal charges. You retain access to paid features until the end of the current billing period.
- We do not provide pro-rated refunds for partial billing periods after the 14-day window.
4. Annual Subscriptions
Annual subscriptions are billed in advance for the full year. After the 14-day money-back window:
- Annual subscriptions are non-refundable for the remainder of the term.
- You may cancel to prevent renewal at the end of the annual term.
- You retain full access to paid features until the end of the annual period you have already paid for.
5. Exceptions
We may issue a refund outside the 14-day window in the following circumstances:
- Extended Service outage caused by us that materially prevents you from using the Service for more than 7 consecutive days.
- Duplicate or accidental charges. Please contact us immediately if you believe you were charged in error.
- Refunds required by applicable consumer protection law.
6. How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, email billing@basilbook.com with the following information:
- The email address associated with your BasilBook account.
- The Paddle order or transaction ID (found in your receipt email).
- The reason for your refund request.
We aim to respond to refund requests within 3 business days. Approved refunds are processed through Paddle, our payment provider, and typically appear on your statement within 5–10 business days depending on your bank or card issuer.
7. Effect of Refund
When a refund is issued, your account is downgraded to the Free plan immediately. Pro features and any data tied to Pro-only functionality become unavailable. Your operational data (purchases, sales, inventory, etc.) is preserved and remains accessible on the Free plan within its limits.
8. Chargebacks
Please contact us before filing a chargeback with your bank or card issuer. Chargebacks are costly and time-consuming for both parties, and most issues can be resolved quickly through direct support. Accounts with unresolved chargebacks may be suspended pending review.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. The policy in effect at the time of your purchase governs that purchase.
