Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the BasilBook web application and mobile application (the “Service”) operated by BasilBook (“we”, “us”, or “our”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old and capable of forming a binding contract to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.

2. Account Registration

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must promptly notify us of any unauthorized use of your account.
  • You are responsible for all activities that occur under your account, including actions taken by team members you invite.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its related systems.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
  • Use the Service to store or transmit malicious code.
  • Resell, sublicense, or provide the Service to third parties without our written consent.

4. Your Data

You retain ownership of all data you input into the Service (“Your Data”). You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display Your Data solely to provide the Service to you. We will not access Your Data except as necessary to operate the Service, provide support, or as required by law.

5. Subscriptions and Billing

  • The Service offers free and paid subscription plans. Features and limits vary by plan.
  • Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through Paddle.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice.
  • Refunds are handled in accordance with applicable law and our refund policy.

6. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access to the Service. We may perform scheduled maintenance with reasonable notice. We are not liable for any downtime or service interruptions.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, features, and documentation, is owned by BasilBook and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding without written permission.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. THE SERVICE PROVIDES OPERATIONAL AND ACCOUNTING TOOLS BUT DOES NOT CONSTITUTE PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTING, TAX, OR LEGAL ADVICE. YOU SHOULD CONSULT QUALIFIED PROFESSIONALS FOR SUCH MATTERS.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BASILBOOK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these Terms or for any other reason with reasonable notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. You may export Your Data before termination. We may retain certain data as required by law.

11. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which BasilBook is incorporated, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and, where appropriate, by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
