Analytics Your Way

The same few questions come back every week. Save them once, and Analytics opens on the answer.

The questions you ask every week

“How did delivery do this month?” “Which payment methods came in last week?” The questions repeat; setting up the page to answer them should not.

Analytics now remembers how you like it. Your own default layout, and as many named views as you need for the questions you come back to.

None of it changes the books, and none of it changes what a colleague sees.

Arranging the page

Press Customize on Analytics.

  • Move, resize, hide — Drag a chart by its name, drag its right edge to resize it, or hide it. Hidden charts wait in a tray above the grid.
  • Add chart — Adds a chart the page does not show yet: Expense breakdown, Payables by vendor, or Receivables aging for businesses that invoice.
  • Opens on — Pick the period the page opens on.
  • Save as my default — That arrangement becomes the page you see every time. Reset to standard brings the standard page back.

Saved views

A saved view is a name, a period and a layout: one question, ready to open.

Set the period and arrange the charts, then in Customize choose Save as new view and name it, for example “Last 30 days — delivery”. Open it any time from the picker beside Customize.

  • It moves with the calendar — A view saved on a preset such as Last 30 days still means the last 30 days next month. A view saved on dates you picked keeps those dates.
  • Update, rename, delete — Save to view updates the open view. Manage saved views renames or deletes one.
  • Up to 20 — Enough for every question you actually ask, not so many that the picker becomes a list to search.

Pinning a chart to the dashboard

Some charts deserve a place on the first screen you open. Press the pin on the chart.

It joins your dashboard as a widget and follows the dashboard's period, not the view's, so the dashboard always shows one period. Revenue vs Cost keeps its six months.

Unpin it from Analytics or remove it from the dashboard's Customize.

Who sees what

Your default and your views are yours alone, in each workspace.

  • Professional — Saving a layout, saved views and pins are part of the Professional plan. On Free the standard page is shown and the controls carry the Pro badge.
  • If the plan changes — Saved views and layouts are kept untouched until you upgrade again. Resetting and unpinning work on any plan.
  • In the mobile app — Your layout and saved views open on the phone too, and Customize analytics shows, hides and reorders the charts. Creating, renaming and deleting views is on the web.

Arrange BasilBook around your day

Personal dashboards, Analytics layouts and menu order come with the Professional plan. Each person keeps their own.
