Your Menu, Your Order

A cashier opens Sales fifty times a day and Payroll never. The menu can now say so.

Different jobs, different pages

The sidebar lists every page in the order of the books: operations, then management, then finance. That order makes sense for the product. It rarely matches anyone's day.

An owner who reconciles every evening wants Bank receipts near the top. A buyer lives in Purchases and Vendors. A cashier needs Sales and little else.

Each person can now order the menu around their own work.

Ordering your menu

Press Customize menu at the bottom of the sidebar.

  • Drag or use the arrows — Drag a page by its grip to move it, even into another group. The arrows do the same from the keyboard.
  • Change group — The group menu on each row moves a page to Top, Operations, Management or Finance, so the page you open first can sit beside the Dashboard.
  • Hide — The eye icon hides a page from your menu.
  • Save — Press Save. Reset to default brings the standard menu back, with every page shown.

Hidden is not gone

Hiding a page only tidies your menu. Nothing about the page or what you can do there changes.

  • Every link still works — An alert, a dashboard card or a bookmark that leads to a hidden page opens it as before.
  • It shows while you are on it — When a hidden page is the page open, it appears in the menu, so you always know where you are.
  • New pages find their place — A page added to BasilBook after you saved your order appears in its usual place in your menu, so you never miss it.

Yours alone, on Professional

Your order is yours, in each workspace. Colleagues keep theirs.

  • Professional — Customize menu is part of the Professional plan, alongside personal dashboards and Analytics layouts. On Free it carries the Pro badge and the standard menu is used.
  • In the mobile app — The iPad sidebar and the More screen follow your order and leave out hidden pages. Edit menu shows, hides and reorders pages there too; moving a page to another group is done on the web.
  • If the plan changes — Your saved order is kept untouched and comes back when you upgrade again. Reset to default works on any plan.

Arrange BasilBook around your day

Personal dashboards, Analytics layouts and menu order come with the Professional plan. Each person keeps their own.
